- The Red-banded Jezebel (scientific name: Delias mysis), a butterfly belonging to the subfamily of pink butterflies of the family Phyllostomidae, is a species of the genus Phyllostomidae. It is distributed in New Guinea and Australia. Adults are active throughout the year, with the largest numbers occurring in the uplands from April to May (i.e., the end of the wet season in the southern hemisphere) and in the lowlands during the winter months. They often fly high in the tree canopy and again close to the ground to feed on nectar. In hotter weather it also flies to the ground to rest on shaded leaves. The larvae are multi-generational, and their hosts are a variety of five-stamen parasitic and mulberry parasitic plants.
